Everyone is invited — young and old — to celebrate Užgavėnės!
We’ll play games, dance, sing, enjoy plenty of delicious food, burn Morė, and of course, chase winter out of the yard! There will also be a mask contest with prizes!
It’s time to fix that winter, send it on its way!
Put on your scariest masks — chase nasty luck away.
We’ll burn Morė to ashes, raise a frightful, roaring sound,
And cheer for Kanapinis till our voices shake the ground.
And did you know that starting then, Lent begins next day?
So fill your plates and bellies — don’t you dare hold back today!
For soon enough, at our front door, the quiet times will stand,
So dance and stomp and sing with us while joy is still at hand!
While some portions of this event will be held in the Lithuanian language, most of the experience is meant to be accessible and engaging for non-speakers as well. All are welcome!

Ruoškit kaukes kuo baisiausias, vysim negandas bjauriausias.
Degsim Morę, kelsim triukšmą kieme baisulinį.
Ir palaikymo balsais šauksim Kanapinį.
O žinojot, kad nuo ryt, reiks Gavėnią atlaikyt?
Ruoškit pilvą, nekūdėkit, maisto jam nepagailėkit.
Kad už durų jau rimtis mūmis pasitinka,
Šoksim, trypsim su dainom kolei dar pritinka.
